Welcome to "PRO[C][GR]ESS," a collaboration between Star Fades International (SFI) and Simply Suzette. This capsule celebrates localism, community, and innovative craftsmanship in denim manufacturing in the western hemisphere. Combining SFI's advanced 3D design technology with green chemistry and local production, we've created a nine piece collection that embodies connection and thoughtful design.
By producing locally in the western hemisphere, we minimize the carbon footprint from transportation and logistics, support local economies, and reduce environmental impact, creating "products of place." Using advanced green chemistry like tints and dyes made from recycled textiles and enzymes that replace bleach, we limit harmful chemicals, conserve water, and reduce energy use, ensuring a cleaner manufacturing environment. This commitment to local production fosters community and shared values, engaging local suppliers and artisans in the craft.
Laser can be used to create whiskering, distressing, holes, special designs and more. A computer program dictates the intensity and pattern, taking only a few seconds to complete the design.
Ozone Gas decomposes indigo and other dyes with its high oxidation potential, therefore it is a good replacement for sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
Enzymatic Wash - Instead of using harsh chemicals for bleaching, enzymes eat away at the indigo to give a bleaching effect.
Recycrom is a range of 15 coloured dyestuffs made from recycled textiles
Mineral Dyes - An alternative to synthetic dyes made of harsh chemicals made from naturally occurring minerals, rocks, and elements found in the Earth's crust
