DL1961 starts by sourcing innovative, energy efficient fibres. They use fibres from the US and natural indigo dyes derived from plants.

They are committed to energy saving by using a solar powered manufacturing facility and also have developed their own in-house power generation plant.

DL1961 also uses the Environmental Impact Measurement software, by Jeanologia, to monitor every piece of denim made, tracking its water consumption and dye usage.

DL1961 also has an onsite water recycling facility that uses less than 10 gallons of water, compared to the disturbing 2900 gallons it usually take to produce one pair of jeans. After the water is used for washing, 98% of it can be recycled and reused.
